“The recently created Tuniso-Chinese Chamber of Commerce (CCTC) is the culmination of an effort by a handful of men and women of good will who have thought it necessary to position China in the pattern of economic and trade development of Tunisia. .
Indeed, it is imperative in the context of this globalization, while China has become economically and financially essential for the world economy, to reflect on the means to implement to position Tunisia in its regional and international context in relation to the China.
Our country has many assets that the Chinese partners can not neglect:
– A highly strategic geographical location which is a crossroads between Europe, Africa and the Middle East
– A free trade agreement with the various groups mentioned above
– A workforce of good quality and competitive in the labor market
– A relationship with China that has remained constant and friendly for more than 50 years.
It is important to note that the recent initiative of Chinese President Xi Jinping commonly known as “One Belt One Road – OBOR” (belt and path) more widely accepted as the new Silk Road refers to the relationship of the Chinese Empire with the Arab-Muslim world during the Middle Ages.
It is in this historical context that recalls trade, culture and human exchanges, that China wants to claim as the link, in this twenty-first century between all cultures and civilizations.
It is also in this context that China intends to collaborate with Tunisia, a central country in the Mediterranean, to consider it as a privileged partner in the region.
The recent flow of Chinese economic operators in Tunisia is a concrete testimony of this Chinese willingness to collaborate with Tunisia and consider it as a platform for future investments in Africa.
I am particularly happy to be able to preside over the destinies of this young Tuniso – Chinese economic chamber which will certainly contribute with all the other mixed chambers, to the promotion and the development of the economic and commercial relations between Tunisia and the friendly countries.
Our mission is to enable Tunisia to play an important role in accordance with its economic choices to offer the Tunisian citizen more freedom of entrepreneurship and more social prosperity “.
